In June 2026, Cinematic Fairytale was founded by Discovery Channel composer Joanna Bates, A.L.C.M., and Sylvio Pretsch. Though newly established in name, the collaboration is rooted in a long-standing dedication to music composition, storytelling and cinematic sound design. Cinematic Fairytale is an Anglo-German composer team specialising in original game music, game scoring, film music, trailer music and cinematic orchestral soundtracks for visual media.
For as long as stories have been told, music has shaped the way they are experienced. It builds emotion, defines atmosphere and gives voice to what images alone cannot express. This principle lies at the core of cinematic music composition and informs every work created by Cinematic Fairytale.
Long before the founding of Cinematic Fairytale, Joanna and Sylvio reached the final selection stage for a game project with BigPoint GmbH, one of Germany’s leading game developers, contributing original game music and sound design for the production. This experience shaped their approach to game music composition, game scoring and cinematic soundtrack creation.
From epic orchestral scores and fantasy themes to suspenseful, gothic atmospheres and adventure-driven compositions, each work is created in service of narrative and emotion. Whether for video games, film trailers or cinematic storytelling, the focus remains on enhancing story, character and world through music.
Every project carries its own identity. Every world its own sound. Drawing on orchestral tradition and modern production techniques, Cinematic Fairytale creates custom music, orchestral game scores, trailer music and film soundtracks designed to support narrative depth and emotional impact.
Whether for distant kingdoms, dark mysteries or heroic journeys, the aim remains the same: to create cinematic music, game music and trailer music that resonates long after the final image fades into silence.
